How many nights you need in Srinagar
Three nights is the minimum that works: one full day for Srinagar city (Mughal Gardens, Shankaracharya Temple, Old City, Dal Lake), one for Gulmarg and one for Pahalgam. Four nights lets you add Sonmarg without rushing. Five to six nights is the comfortable version — you get Doodhpathri or Yusmarg, a slow houseboat morning, and buffer for weather. Getting to Srinagar
Sheikh ul-Alam International Airport (SXR) has direct flights from Delhi (1h 20m), Mumbai (3h), Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh and Jammu. By rail the nearest usable stations are Jammu Tawi and Banihal; from Jammu it is a 265 km, 6–8 hour drive on NH44. In winter the Jawahar Tunnel section can close for hours after heavy snow, which is why we recommend flying in and keeping a buffer day before an outbound flight.

Most guests split their nights between a Boulevard Road or Dalgate hotel and a houseboat moored on Dal Lake or Nigeen Lake. Boulevard Road puts you within walking distance of shikara ghats and the market. Nigeen Lake is quieter and better for honeymooners.
